Medical Training.

Our MSC is designed to enhance how healthcare professionals are trained in Armenia. Through hands-on, scenario-based learning, we create an immersive environment where students and professionals can refine their skills - ensuring they are prepared for any challenge in the field. We develop clinical expertise in a controlled and safe setting, laying the foundation for a lifetime of excellence in patient care.
Provider Credentialing.

We provide healthcare providers with advanced credentialing programs, in line with highest national and international standards. By simulating complex medical scenarios, providers can demonstrate their competencies in real-world situations. This rigorous process guarantees that healthcare professionals who complete our programs are fully prepared, confident, and qualified to provide the best care possible.
Community Training.

At the core of our mission is the belief that healthcare education should extend beyond professionals. Our center offers tailored programs for non-medical individuals, teaching essential life-saving skills like CPR, first aid, and emergency response. By promoting this knowledge and confidence to act during critical moments, we aim to build a health-aware society that can improve public health outcomes.
Public Health Research.

Public health research is vital for addressing Armenia’s most pressing health challenges. By working hand-in-hand with healthcare professionals, researchers can design and test interventions in a controlled setting before implementing them on a larger scale. This focus on research empowers us to contribute to evidence-based healthcare policies and practices that improve the well-being of entire communities.

About the MSC

Our Medical Simulation Center, in partnership with the NIH, is a groundbreaking facility in Armenia, designed to elevate healthcare training standards. As of October 2024, we have transitioned from being a mobile unit to calling the NIH headquarters our home base.

Initially renovating 230 out of 400 square meters, we’re creating a high-tech space where healthcare providers can practice essential skills in realistic environments. Located within the NIH, this center will serve as a vital hub for training and certifying Armenia’s medical professionals, ensuring they are prepared to deliver high-quality care in every emergency situation.

Meet Our Trainers

Marianna Amatuni

RN BSc - Resuscitation Practitioner
Marianna is a Critical Care Outreach and Resuscitation Practitioner at UK’s Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust with many years of experience in resuscitation and life-support training. Marianna oversees our Education Projects, frequently visits Armenia to conduct trainings and studies the impact of our work on population health. Marianna is fluent in English, Armenian, and Russian.
Vache Hambardzumyan

MD PhD FEBS - Orthopedic Surgeon
Dr. Vache has decades of experience across the world with special expertise in Orthopaedic Trauma, Spinal Surgery, Reconstructive Orthopaedics, Pediatric Orthopaedics, Limb Lengthening, and Deformity Correction. He holds a Ph.D. in Orthopaedics, studying bone reconstruction following removal of benign tumors. Dr. Vache is fluent in English, Armenian, Russian, and French.
Sharon Chekijian

MD MPH - Emergency Medicine
Dr. Chekijian is an Associate Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Yale School of Medicine. She is faculty member in the Section of Global Health and International Emergency Medicine Dr. Chekijian has established an emergency medicine residency program in Armenia and leads numerous research efforts in this field. Dr. Chekijian speaks English, Armenian, French and Spanish.
Gevorg Martirosyan

PharmD, MBA - Clinical Pharmacy
Dr. Martirosyan is Manager of Clinical Pharmacy Services from the US. Prior to his leadership in health system management, he has served in various clinical positions such as neonatal and oncology pharmacy. Dr. Martirosyan contributes to the medication management of resuscitation and life-support measures. Dr. Martirosyan speaks English, Armenian and Russian.
Armine Barkhudaryan

MD MPHc - Obstetrician Gynecologist
Dr. Barkhudaryan, founder of Traveling Doctors, is gynecologist experienced in working in harsh conditions, including conflict zones in Africa. She has served in various humanitarian initiatives such as those in Sudan, Kenya, Syria, Artsakh and many others where she was much needed. Dr. Barkhudaryan was a 2019 Aurora Forum Goodwill Ambassador. Dr. Barkhudaryan is fluent in English, Armenian and Russian.
